Governor Adeleke, who ran unopposed, polled 145 out of 150 delegate votes, while five votes were declared void.

The unopposed candidacy of Adeleke reflected widespread confidence in his leadership within the party.

Adeleke recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the Accord Party and immediately became the sole aspirant for the governorship ticket. Party officials described the primary as smooth, orderly, and transparent.
