Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun was named chairman of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council as the party set out its structure for the 2027 elections in Ogun State.

The list was contained in a document signed by the state chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Yemi Sanusi, and released to journalists.

The party’s governorship candidate and senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, was named co-chairman. Former senator representing Ogun East, Lekan Mustapha, was named Director-General.

Former Ogun State governor and senator representing Ogun East, Gbenga Daniel, and former governor Ibikunle Amosun were designated deputy grand patrons. Former governor and national leader of the party, Olusegun Osoba, was named grand patron.

The campaign council has 156 members. Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele and the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, were named deputy chairmen.

The official list also named members of committees meant to drive campaign and mobilisation work across the 20 local government areas of the state.

The council is expected to coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilisation, and youth and women engagement.

Yemi Sanusi said the committees had been constituted “to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure effective coordination of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections”. Yemi Sanusi charged members to work collectively towards what the party called an overwhelming victory in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

The appointments place serving office holders beside former governors who have not always travelled the same political road.

The document itself does not describe past disagreements. It presents the council as a step in the party’s mobilisation and consolidation effort across Ogun State.
