Wunmi accuses Yomi Fabiyi of exploiting Mohbad’s death for personal gain

Wunmi Yomi Fabiyi Mohbad death

Wunmi, widow of late singer Mohbad, accuses Yomi Fabiyi of fueling public hatred and exploiting her husband’s death for personal gain

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]unmi, the widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has publicly accused Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi of inciting public hatred against her and exploiting her husband’s death for personal benefit.

In a recent interview with Arise News TV, Wunmi expressed her frustration over what she described as a sustained smear campaign launched by Fabiyi.

She alleged that Fabiyi, who has been an outspoken figure in the Justice for Mohbad movement, has been using an old video of a past disagreement between her and Mohbad to paint her in a negative light.

Wunmi’s accusations centre on Fabiyi’s use of the video to repeatedly call for her arrest, label her a murderer, and even question the paternity of her son.

“There’s this man online, a self-acclaimed activist, Yomi Fabiyi, who has always had a deep resentment towards women. Before he even joined Justice for Mohbad, he had blocked me.

His first video called for my arrest, and since then, he has spread damaging allegations, including that I caused my husband’s death,” she stated during the interview.

Wunmi further accused the actor of exploiting the public’s sympathy over Mohbad’s death to raise funds for himself.

According to her, Fabiyi has raised over N10 million by using the controversy surrounding her husband’s passing.

“He has been using a three-second video to mislead people and extort money. He couldn’t even repeat these accusations when he met with the commissioner of police.

It’s unfair that there is no organization protecting widows from such targeted attacks. I am too young to go through this,” she lamented.

Wunmi’s statement has sparked fresh debate and reactions online, with many questioning Fabiyi’s role in the Justice for Mohbad campaign and his true motivations in the ongoing controversy.

As the investigation into Mohbad’s death continues, the public’s focus remains on the actors involved in the campaign for justice, including the roles played by figures such as Yomi Fabiyi.
