Wizkid has been crowned Africa’s biggest earner on Spotify with $1 million, leading a list dominated by Nigerian artists

 

[dropcap]N[/dropcap]igerian music sensation Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, has been crowned the biggest earner in Africa on Spotify, according to the latest figures from Chart Masters.

The statistics, which track the monthly earnings of global artists on the platform, place Wizkid at the top with a staggering $1 million in earnings.

Wizkid’s impressive earnings have cemented his status as one of Africa’s most influential and successful musical exports.

The singer, known for his global hits like “Essence” and “Ojuelegba,” has long been a prominent figure in the international music scene.

The full list of Africa’s top ten Spotify earners is dominated by Nigerian artists, showcasing the country’s growing influence on the global music industry.

South Africa’s Tyla, however, makes a notable appearance in the fourth spot with $607,804, marking the only non-Nigerian presence in the top ten.

 

The full list of Africa’s top ten Spotify earners is as follows:

  1. Wizkid – $1 million
  2. Burna Boy – $782,148
  3. Tems – $660,210
  4. Tyla – $607,804
  5. Davido – $458,615
  6. Asake – $451,553
  7. Omah Lay – $421,123
  8. Ayra Starr – $400,972
  9. Rema – $367,973

 

These figures demonstrate the dominance of Nigerian music on Spotify, with artists like Burna Boy, Tems, and Davido rounding out the top five.

Wizkid’s achievement highlights the thriving Afrobeat movement, which continues to make waves worldwide.

Globally, the earnings on Spotify are topped by Canadian rapper Drake and American pop star Taylor Swift, who earned $7.7 million and $7.7 million respectively.
