The launch of this groundbreaking app marks a significant step towards enhancing financial literacy among young individuals, empowering them to manage their finances while learning essential money management skills.

A Revolutionary App for Teenagers

The ALAT Xplore App is designed not just as a banking tool but as a comprehensive financial literacy platform. With its user-friendly interface and interactive features, it enables teenagers to explore the fundamentals of banking, saving, and spending within a secure environment. The app equips them with the skills needed for managing their finances as they transition to adulthood.

Customisable Features and Debit Cards

Teenagers can personalise the app and request one of three unique debit card designs issued in their name, instilling a sense of ownership and responsibility. This feature helps teens develop independence while learning to control their spending. The ALAT Xplore App also includes a goal-setting functionality, allowing users to set and track savings goals, making the process exciting and rewarding.

Parental Guidance for Financial Security

The ALAT Xplore App works in tandem with the parent’s ALAT App, enabling guardians to monitor and guide their teens’ financial activities. Teens can request funds from their parents, while parents can track expenses and provide financial advice. This collaborative approach promotes healthy discussions on budgeting and financial responsibility.

How It Works

  • Parents open an ALAT account for their teenager via the ALAT App.
  • The teenager downloads the ALAT Xplore App and requests parental permission to access it.
  • Parents approve the request via the ALAT App, allowing their child to begin exploring the app’s features.
  • Teenagers can then set up savings goals, request debit cards, and manage their finances.

Empowering Financial Literacy in Youth

Wema Bank’s ALAT Xplore App is set to revolutionise the way teenagers engage with money management, positioning them for a future of financial responsibility.

By fostering independence and financial awareness at a young age, the app helps shape responsible financial habits.
