In a statement released on Thursday, the bank announced that it had been certified as a Great Place to Work for 2024-2025, marking its second consecutive year receiving this prestigious certification.

The Great Place to Work certification is a globally acknowledged standard that evaluates an organisation’s workplace culture, practices, and employee feedback.

Wema Bank attributed its recognition to its dedication to fostering a positive work environment and prioritising employee welfare.

The bank stands out by offering industry-leading employee benefits, such as one of the longest standard leave policies, a cost-of-living adjustment to mitigate the impact of economic changes, and salary increases for non-full-time equivalent employees.

Wema Bank also provides access to a standard creche and a fully equipped gym, promoting work-life balance and physical wellness among its staff.

Moruf Oseni, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank, expressed pride in these accolades, emphasising that the bank’s success is directly linked to the dedication of its employees, particularly millennials.

“At Wema Bank, we understand that our exceptional output as a bank is a direct result of the dedicated input of our employees. We remain focused on providing an enriching and fulfilling work experience for all our employees,” Oseni stated.

In addition to its workplace achievements, Wema Bank has recently launched a payment gateway called ALATPay, aimed at supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria.

The platform offers a secure shopping experience for customers and instant settlement for merchants through a unique ALATPay link.
