Ukrainian drone strikes killed 3 and wounded 2 in Russia, escalating tensions amid ceasefire talks and continued cross-border attacks on both sides
Ukrainian Drone Strikes killed three people and wounded two others across western Russia overnight, intensifying a volatile front in the ongoing conflict, according to regional officials.

In Penza, a woman died and two others were injured after a drone struck a local enterprise, Governor Oleg Melnichenko announced on Telegram.
In the Samara region, falling drone debris caused a house fire that killed an elderly man, Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported. A third fatality occurred in Rostov, where a facility guard died following a drone-triggered fire.
Rostov’s acting governor, Yuri Sliusar, said Russian air defenses had intercepted drones across seven districts, calling it a “massive air attack.”
Russia’s defense ministry reported destroying 112 Ukrainian drones, including 34 over Rostov, in a dramatic nine-hour barrage.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, Russian drones wounded three civilians and damaged homes, according to Governor Sergiy Lysak.
The escalation comes amid deadlocked peace efforts. President Putin repeated demands for Ukrainian territorial concessions and NATO withdrawal.

President Zelensky, calling Putin the sole decision-maker in the conflict, reiterated his openness to talks.
