Unveiled at the 38th Lagos International Trade Fair, the UBA SME Card aims to enhance value for business owners by offering streamlined financial tools that cater specifically to their needs.

The card’s launch aligns with UBA’s broader commitment to SME growth, with significant investment in technology and strategic partnerships across Africa.
Shamsideen Fashola, UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, explained that this investment in cutting-edge technology is helping to improve customer experiences and boost operational efficiency.
“We are relentless in advancing the growth of SMEs,” Fashola said, “and the UBA SME Card is designed to equip entrepreneurs with tools for success in an increasingly competitive landscape.”
This card provides benefits such as seamless access to financing and expense management features, helping SMEs streamline their operations.
Babatunde Ajayi, Head of SME Banking at UBA, also emphasized UBA’s commitment to supporting small businesses through targeted financing options, especially for youth and women entrepreneurs.
With its extensive network across 20 African countries, UBA is strategically positioned to foster intra-African trade and economic integration.
Its partnership with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Afreximbank is central to this mission, facilitating cross-border transactions and supporting economic growth across the continent.
