UBA ushers in the holiday season with its annual Garden Light-Up, spreading joy through festive decorations, music, and fireworks in celebration of community and giving.

[dropcap]U[/dropcap]nited Bank for Africa (UBA) kicked off the festive season with its much-anticipated annual Garden Light-Up ceremony, a tradition hosted by its corporate social responsibility arm, the UBA Foundation.

The event, held to spread holiday cheer and strengthen community bonds, was attended by UBA staff, customers, and special guests.

The Garden Light-Up ceremony, featuring vibrant decorations, dazzling lights, fireworks, and festive music, was designed to set the mood for the Christmas season and promote a sense of unity and joy.

According to UBA, this event reflects the bank’s commitment to fostering community spirit during the Yuletide season.

UBA’s Group Managing Director/CEO, Oliver Alawuba, addressed attendees, expressing gratitude for the efforts of the bank’s staff and customers throughout the year.

Alawuba highlighted the significance of the season, reminding everyone of the importance of giving and supporting one another, especially during challenging times.

“As we approach Christmas, a time of love, we remember the spirit of giving and community. I would like to express gratitude to every one of you.

We are happy and grateful for all your sacrifices and contributions, especially during what has been a difficult year,” Alawuba said.

Reflecting on UBA’s 75-year legacy, Alawuba reiterated the bank’s commitment to building a lasting heritage of unity and community support.

“This ceremony is a reflection of our belief in the importance of family, unity, and giving back to the communities we serve,” he added.

The evening’s festivities also included Christmas carols performed by the UBA Customer Fulfilment Centre’s choir, followed by a guided tour of the UBA Foundation gardens at the Lagos Marina, where the event concluded with a spectacular fireworks display.

In line with its corporate social responsibility initiatives, the UBA Foundation, which focuses on education, environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, and other development projects, will also be distributing food to tens of thousands of people across Africa this festive season.

The UBA Garden Light-Up ceremony not only marks the start of the holiday season but also underscores the bank’s ongoing commitment to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
