Speaking at the Federal University of Technology Akure during a colloquium marking the Deji of Akure’s 10th coronation anniversary, Makinde said politics allows free entry and exit.
He described the ADC coalition as part of the usual flow of political realignments, stating it would not disrupt PDP’s momentum.
“Politics is a game of interest. I don’t think that will make any dent on the PDP as a party,” Makinde told journalists.
He added, “The PDP is an institution. We have freedom of entrance and exit. Anyone that will hold the PDP down, it is better for such an individual to quit.”
Makinde explained that coalitions were expected in a vibrant democracy. According to him, governance is continuous while parties and individuals come and go.
Meanwhile, the African Democratic Congress in Ondo State clarified that its executive leadership remained unchanged despite coalition talks with other parties.
A statement from the party’s Publicity Secretary, Eniola Olurotimi, maintained that Mrs Sidikatu Ojo is still the recognised chairperson of the ADC in the state.
“All the list of names announced by the certain people to coordinate local government offices of ADC in Ondo State is hereby not acceptable,” the party declared.
