Martins, in a statement on her Instagram page, emphasised that she did not accept the rider’s proposal and that her response was motivated solely by kindness.
Martins explained that she extended a gesture of affirmation to remind the rider of his self-worth, but made it clear that it should not be misconstrued as consent to a relationship.
She described herself as a principled woman who values respect, loyalty, and submission in a partner, and insisted that she would not compromise her standards for anyone.
“Let it be known that I don’t say yes to a dispatch rider. I only extended my hand in love for humanity towards him to remind him that he’s worthy of love regardless of his current status. I am not the type that dates low, and I can’t fix any man to fit into my standards, hell to the no,” Martins wrote.
The actress also addressed claims that the rider had lost his job following his expression of interest.
She stated that he had been cautioned, not dismissed, and that her intention was to correct disrespectful behaviour rather than to cause him harm.
Martins concluded by reaffirming her single status, asserting that she is not actively seeking marriage or a romantic relationship at this time.
