Speaking in an interview on Yanga FM, Omotola dismissed the notion that she and Genevieve were ever at odds, emphasising that colleagues do not need to be best friends to work together professionally.
“For years, fans and observers have speculated that we were not on good terms, but na them start the quarrel before we know say we dey quarrel. So, we have to catch up with the quarrel. There was no quarrel,” she said.
When asked about any disagreements prior to their collaboration on the movie EJ, Omotola maintained there was no such conflict. She likened the situation to the rivalries often fabricated around music stars.
“You know the same thing they do with all these music stars. Wizkid and Davido now have taken it to another level, but na we be the practice that time.
They pitch you against this person, say this one is the hottest girl, that one is the hottest girl,” she explained.
Omotola added that while such comparisons naturally created tension, they were frequently misunderstood and misinterpreted as personal animosity.
