Igbesa, following the arrest of three female students involved in the brutal beating of a young lady over a boyfriend-related disagreement.
The disturbing incident, which took place off-campus, came to public attention through a viral video showing the attackers lashing the victim with thick canes.
The assaulted woman, who is not a student of the institution, sustained visible injuries to her back, head, and face.
Despite attempts by other students to intervene, the lead attacker, identified only as Lolade, continued the assault unabated, insisting the act was a warning.
Gbadebo Adebayo, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, said on Monday that the school was working with the police to ensure that justice is served.
He stressed that the institution would take decisive internal disciplinary action once the police concluded their investigation.
According to Adebayo, the students’ conduct is a direct violation of the school’s code of conduct and does not reflect the values upheld by the institution.
He reiterated the school’s strict position on student discipline, stating that violence, whether on or off campus, would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The police have since arrested the students involved, and the management is closely monitoring the investigation’s progress.
OGITECH has assured the public that it is committed to ensuring the victim receives justice while sending a strong warning to all students about the consequences of violent behaviour.
