This radical political group, loyal to the second runner-up in Nigeria’s recent presidential election, is attacking Adenuga for her support of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who finished first in the race.
The controversy began after Adenuga, the first elected black female public representative in Ireland, announced her nomination for the Irish General Election.
On her social media, she shared her excitement about being nominated by Fine Gael Meath West and expressed gratitude to those who supported her, urging people to keep her in their prayers for the selection on September 9.
Happy to share I’ve been nominated in Fine Gael Meath West to contest in the Irish General Election! Huge honour for me & a chance to rep values & vision of FG & people of Meath West. Many thanks to all who nominated me. Selection is on 9th Sept. Keep me in your prayers #TeamYemi
In response, the Obidients, who were disappointed by the Nigerian presidential election results, targeted Adenuga with derogatory comments.
They labelled her a bigot and attempted to discredit her publicly. Their aim appears to be to punish her for aligning with Tinubu.
