The development followed public reactions after Ann and Regina Daniels’ elder brother, Sammy, were reportedly arrested on the senator’s directive.
In a press statement shared on his Instagram page, Nwoko said Ann was arrested over allegations of criminal defamation.
He claimed she accused him of physically assaulting his wife, Laila, an allegation he firmly denied.
According to Nwoko, the allegation was false and damaging, insisting that no such incident ever occurred.
He said the arrest was necessary to address what he described as deliberate falsehoods.
The senator also made counter-claims against Ann and Regina Daniels concerning events that allegedly occurred during his marriage to the actress.
He urged members of the public to read his full statement for context, stressing that the matter is now before relevant authorities.
Nwoko maintained that his actions were guided by legal advice and the need to protect his reputation against what he described as serious and unfounded accusations.
Recall that in October, Regina Daniels announced the end of her marriage to Nwoko, citing domestic violence as the reason for leaving.
In response, the senator denied the claim and attributed the marital breakdown to what he described as Regina’s struggles with substance abuse, which he said affected the relationship.
He further stated that his efforts to encourage her to seek professional help were unsuccessful and alleged that her departure from his home led to tension involving members of her family.
Regina Daniels has also accused Nwoko of various forms of misconduct and warned that she may make further allegations public.
She has denied claims of substance abuse and alleged that her former husband exposed her to harmful influences during their marriage.
In a subsequent statement, Nwoko said he does not wish for Regina Daniels to return to his home, adding that his primary concern is her wellbeing and access to professional support.
