Mudashiru Obasa Governorship Ambition

Mudashiru Obasa Governorship Ambition revealed as Lagos Speaker says his political future depends on party consensus after years in the Assembly

Speaking in an interview on Television Continental (TVC) on Thursday, Obasa acknowledged that while he still harbours aspirations to serve either in the Senate or as governor, his next move will depend on the position of his political party.

“Every politician has ambitions, but you get to a stage where you cannot determine what comes next.

If you believe in the party structure, you understand that it’s about consultation, consensus, and the leadership’s direction,” he said.

The lawmaker explained that while personal ambitions matter, they must align with the broader strategy of the party.

He suggested that consultation with party leaders would ultimately determine his political trajectory.

Obasa, who recently survived a leadership crisis that temporarily removed him as Speaker, also hinted that he is unlikely to contest a fifth term in the Assembly.

Asked if he would run again as a legislator, he responded: “Not really,” suggesting that his attention may now be shifting to higher responsibilities.

Analysts say the Mudashiru Obasa Governorship Ambition could shape political dynamics in Lagos as the ruling party begins to weigh its options ahead of the next election cycle.
