According to Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, the arrests were made on 18th September 2025 during a joint patrol of officers and vigilantes led by the Divisional Police Officer of Kamba Division, Bello Lawal.

The suspects Saifullahi Suleiman (37), Halidu Adamu (26), Ibrahim Abubakar (37), and Sani Kabiru (22), all residents of Kamba in Dandi LGA – were found in possession of three Honda motorcycles valued at ₦5.4 million.

Police said the motorcycles, purchased from the Benin Republic, were intended to be delivered to the Lakurawa terrorist group through an accomplice from Kangiwa, Arewa LGA.

During investigations, another suspect, Mubarak Ladan (28), allegedly attempted to bribe the DPO with ₦600,000 to secure the release of the arrested men. He was immediately apprehended, and the cash recovered as evidence.

Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, directed the State CID in Birnin Kebbi to intensify efforts in tracking down other accomplices.

He commended the professionalism and courage of the Kamba DPO and vigilante members, urging divisional heads across the state to demonstrate similar dedication.
