JustDetoun warns Governor Abiodun, criticising his public service and urging him to avoid Lagos State affairs
Nigerian social welfare activist and commentator Adetoun Onajobi, also known as Just Adetoun, has publicly warned Governor Dapo Abiodun to stay away from Lagos State politics, while simultaneously facing an official police invitation over her criticisms.

In a series of social media videos, the activist claimed that Governor Abiodun “lacks home training”.
highlighted what she described as the inadequate emergency response in Ogun State, citing the use of a tricycle as the state ambulance and contrasting it with the distribution of meat and livestock in Lagos State.
The warning reflects Just Adetoun’s concern over Abiodun’s interactions with Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, suggesting that such political involvement could have negative consequences.
The activist’s commentary follows a previous confrontation with the governor, which also attracted public attention.
In response to a petition filed against her, the Ogun State Police Command confirmed on Wednesday that Just Adetoun has been invited for questioning.
Just Adetoun’s criticisms intensified following the December 29 accident involving Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua, in which two of his trainers were killed along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
She alleged that the state government failed to provide a functional ambulance, while public funds were allegedly spent on social events and the procurement of SUVs for local government chairmen.
Addressing the situation, Ogun State-based lawyer Owolabi K. Oluwasegun, Esq., offered to defend the activist pro bono.
He criticised the alleged use of state security apparatus to intimidate citizens exercising their right to hold government accountable.
He said, “Governance is a contract with the people. Citizens have the right to demand accountability, and the government should correct deficiencies or provide proof of improvement. I hereby publicly declare my full support for Just Adetoun. I am offering my pro bono legal services to ensure her fundamental rights are protected and to challenge any attempt to suppress free speech through intimidation. We must build a state where the government is big enough to listen and humble enough to serve.”

The incident has sparked debate on social media and among civil society groups about the balance between citizen activism and governmental authority, particularly regarding free speech and political accountability in Ogun State.
