Eyewitnesses said Oba Ayodeji Adesoye fled the palace when the protest began, as the growing crowd marched toward the premises holding placards and chanting demands for justice.
Residents said the youths hurled stones at the palace gate and called for the monarch to vacate the throne.
The tension followed allegations that Oba Ayodeji Adesoye invoked spiritual sanctions during a dispute involving some young men in the community.
The protesters described the alleged act as an abuse of authority and said it has created fear among residents.
Community elders attempted to calm the situation, but the youths refused to disperse and insisted that the matter must be addressed publicly.
Traders near the palace closed their shops as the unrest intensified, with some describing the scene as powerful and unsettling.
Security operatives later arrived to restore order and prevent the confrontation from escalating further.
Officers maintained a visible presence around the palace area as residents gathered in clusters to discuss the day’s events.
