In a video shared on Instagram Monday, Baci broke down the logistics of the massive undertaking, which has already sparked excitement and curiosity across social media.
The pot designed for this record-breaking dish holds a volume of 22,619 litres.
Baci says her goal is to fill it up to 80% capacity, which would require:
- 5,278kg of raw basmati rice
- 250 bags of rice (down from 264 originally estimated)
- 1,583kg of tomato paste
“My goal is to fill this pot up by at least 75 to 80 per cent. That means I will need about 5,278 kilograms of raw basmati rice,” Baci explained.
Baci has carefully calculated her jollof ratio.
For every 1kg of rice, she plans to use 0.30kg of tomato paste, in line with Nigerian jollof rice flavor expectations.
She revealed the paste mix will include:
- Tomato paste
- Pepper chicken paste
- Jollof paste
“The tomato base will be shared evenly across the three to make the most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted,” she said.
This bold attempt follows Baci’s 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, which earned her global recognition and positioned her as a cultural ambassador for Nigerian cuisine.
