The tragic accident occurred following a weekend match where Chiedozie had played for non-league side Bashley FC against Tavistock.

After the game, Chiedozie and Bashley FC’s physio, Reighan Taylor, experienced a flat tire while traveling back from the away game.

While attempting to resolve the issue on the motorway, Chiedozie stepped out of the vehicle to assess the situation, only to be hit by another car.

The collision caused Chiedozie to sustain “life-changing, and potentially life-threatening” injuries.

He was immediately rushed to Southampton Hospital, where he was diagnosed with multiple broken bones and other severe physical injuries.

At present, Chiedozie remains in a controlled coma under medical supervision.

In response to the devastating news, Bashley FC issued a statement expressing their shock and sadness.

“Everyone connected with Bashley Football Club is devastated by the news of our player Jordan Chiedozie, currently in the hospital with life-changing, and potentially life-threatening injuries, after a serious car crash,” the club said.

The club has asked for support for Chiedozie and his family as they navigate this difficult time.
