“I consider this appointment not just a personal honour, but a call to national duty one that I accept with utmost seriousness and resolve,” Dr. Momoh declared.
Highlighting the challenges ahead, he noted that reclaiming and repositioning Nigeria’s reputation demands a unified approach from all citizens.
He specifically urged Nigerians to refrain from undermining the country’s image with negative commentary, particularly on social media.
“Every negative post, every careless comment, every harsh generalisation especially when amplified globally further erodes the very image we all hope to improve,” he cautioned.
Dr. Momoh stressed the importance of responsible social media usage, advocating for the amplification of positive narratives and the active promotion of national initiatives.
He stated, “Let our digital footprints reflect a sense of duty to our nation, even as we hold it to higher standards. A reputation is a collective asset we must each do our part to protect it.”
Furthermore, he emphasised the crucial need for leaders to exemplify transparency, accountability, and integrity.
“We cannot rebuild trust in Nigeria’s image if those entrusted with public office do not live up to the responsibilities of service.
