The drama emerged after Angela Okorie was reportedly taken from her Lagos residence on Tuesday and transported to Abuja in connection with an alleged cyberbullying case involving Mercy Johnson, according to filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi.
Earlier reports suggested that Okorie appeared in court and was subsequently sent to prison.
Ogala, who initially praised Johnson following Okorie’s arrest, admitted in a recent Instagram post that the situation had escalated beyond her expectations.
She described the matter as no longer a simple police station case and pleaded with Mercy Johnson to temper justice with mercy.
“Mercy, my beautiful bestie. I know Angela really hurt you. She hurt me too. Honestly, I didn’t know it would lead to prison. Please forgive her. I thought it was going to be a police station matter. I beg you in the name of God. Please forgive and forget,” Ogala wrote.
She added, “Mercy, my love. My beautiful black beauty. Please temper justice with mercy. Forgive Angela.”
The post drew mixed reactions online. Some followers questioned Ogala’s claim of closeness to Mercy Johnson, while others expressed concern over the handling of Okorie’s alleged offences.
Comments ranged from criticism of the justice process to calls for forgiveness and restraint.
