Dozens of residents, including women and children, were abducted during the assault, according to security analyst Bakatsine.
Bakatsine disclosed details of the attack on Thursday via a post on X, describing the community’s situation as one of “deep fear and mourning.”
He condemned attempts to justify such violence under religious pretences, stating that Islam forbids the murder of innocents, the abduction of women and children, and the spreading of terror.
Authorities have not yet confirmed official casualty figures or the number of people abducted.
The incident has prompted concerns over security gaps in the Wurno area and renewed calls for urgent protective measures.
