The adjournment follows a submission by the respondents, who informed the court that they had not received the necessary documents related to the case.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had approached the court seeking an order to restrain the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges from investigating her.
The Senator, through her legal representatives, argued that the investigation would be unjust and without merit.
This legal battle has gained attention in recent weeks, as Akpoti-Uduaghan challenges the ongoing investigation by the Senate Committee.
The matter was initially heard on March 5, 2025, when the presiding judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, ruled in favour of Akpoti-Uduaghan, barring the Senate Committee from proceeding with its probe.
The case has raised significant political interest, as the outcome could have far-reaching implications for both Akpoti-Uduaghan and the Senate’s standing.
