Sunday James Olukunle, a Nigerian musician popularly known as Sunny Bright, has been found dead in his Los Angeles, California home.

Sources said authorities discovered his body on Friday.

They believe he may have died on Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Concern over his whereabouts reportedly grew after colleagues noticed his unexplained absence from work. Friends described the absence as unusual.

A source close to the late artiste told Freelanews that investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.

Colleagues and friends described Sunny Bright as hardworking, supportive, and deeply caring.

They also remembered him as a loyal colleague, a trusted friend, and an adorable brother.

Meanwhile, friends of the late musician are awaiting the family’s decision on whether his remains will be returned to Nigeria for burial.

The source added that plans are underway to hold an “Artiste Night” in his honour.

The family is working on the date and will announce details shortly.

May his soul rest in peace.
