A family has been thrown into mourning after a truck belonging to Dangote Group rammed some shops killing two boys and a girl of the same parents at the gate of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba (AAUA) in Ondo State.
The unfortunate incident also claimed the lives of some residents and other students of the institution on Saturday. Among them was the mother of the deceased children. It was reported that the woman collapsed and died on the spot on learning the loss of her children.
Witnesses revealed that the total number of the victims, number yet unknown, were either maimed or slaughtered as the truck conveying bags of cement suffered brake failure and rammed into shops in the area.
The incident happened a few minutes past 6:00 p.m. yesterday January 23, 2020, witnesses said.
It was learnt that rescue operations were still going on as of the time of this report.
The state police spokesperson, Tee-Leo Ikoro, could not be reached as of the time of filing this report.
The state FRSC public relations officer, Omotola Ogunbanwo, could also not be reached.
