Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has returned to the gym weeks after being involved in a fatal car crash that claimed the lives of two of his close friends.

The accident occurred on 29 December 2025 in the Makun area along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
The incident triggered widespread concern among fans and the boxing community over the condition and emotional wellbeing of the former world champion.
On Friday, videos circulating on social media showed Joshua back in training, working out in a gym facility.
The footage captured the boxer engaging in strength exercises, cycling on an exercise bike, and later swimming in the gym’s pool area, signalling a gradual return to physical activity.
Joshua also shared a photo on his Snapchat account showing elapsed workout time on a cardio machine, accompanied by the caption “FIGHTERS”, a brief but powerful message that resonated strongly with supporters.
The Anthony Joshua gym return has drawn widespread attention online, with fans interpreting the move as a sign of resilience as the boxer continues to process the aftermath of the tragic incident.
Joshua, a former unified heavyweight champion, has not made any public statement regarding future fights since the crash.
