Runsewe, whose firm constructed the landmark tower, made this assertion in Awka on Thursday during the inauguration of several major state projects by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu commissioned a range of significant projects, including the Solution FunCity, Anambra Country Club, the New Government House, the Government Lodge, and the New Presidential Lodge.
He also unveiled the Emeka Anyaoku Centre at Nnamdi Azikiwe University and the ‘Iconic Light of the Nation Tower’ situated at the new Government House complex.
Runsewe explained that the tower is a physical embodiment of the state’s well-known slogan – ‘Light of the Nation’ – and that its conceptualization and realization were spearheaded under the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
“The tower is both a beautification effort and a tourist attraction for residents and visitors,” Runsewe said. “This is more than a visual landmark; it is a long-term economic asset boosting Anambra’s national tourism profile.”
He further added that the impressive 40-metre-high structure was completed within a swift six-month timeframe, a testament to the commitment and expertise of Dutum Construction Ltd.
Runsewe highlighted that the tower’s design incorporates a striking water fountain at its base and a symbolic globe at its apex, directly representing the state’s ‘Light of the Nation’ motto.
