The roads, restored under his administration’s urban renewal programme, were officially commissioned on Tuesday during a ceremony at St. Joseph’s College (CKC), Asa Triangle, Aba.
The governor described the development as symbolic of a “new epoch” in the state’s history.
“This is not just the commissioning of roads, but the celebration of restored hopes and revived dreams,” Otti declared.
“We’ve connected neighbourhoods and improved the business environment, reinforcing our goal of holistic development for Aba and beyond.”
The commissioned roads include major routes such as Umuode Road, Bakassi Road, Isu Ihiteukwa Street, Asa Road, Enyimba Junction–Ariaria Gate, Market Road (Asa to Eziukwu), Tenant Road, Cameroun Road, Ehi Road, Clifford Road, School Road (Asa to Railway Crossing), Afikpo Road, and the Asa Triangle Bypass.
Otti, who reiterated his ambition to make Abia a model state, promised to address water challenges at St. Joseph’s College and urged residents to protect the newly rehabilitated roads from misuse or commercial damage.

“These roads are not just infrastructure—they are public trust. Communities must take ownership,” he said.
The governor also thanked landlords, business owners, and residents for their patience during construction, as well as the Ministry of Works and the Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) for their execution of the projects.
Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa, and Mayor of Aba South, Hon. Obilor Anyanwu, praised Otti for transforming Aba’s economy and infrastructure, insisting the governor’s re-election in 2027 is a foregone conclusion due to the people’s overwhelming support.
GADA Director General, Uche Ukeje, said the administration’s prioritisation of road infrastructure is evident, with the rehabilitated areas now enjoying improved business flow and rising property values.
Governor Otti, whose grand vision is to transform Abia into a model state, also pledged to address the water challenges at St. Joseph’s College, Aba.
He urged residents of the newly fixed roads to protect them, stressing the importance of preventing destruction from commercial activities, avoiding neglect, and maintaining environmental cleanliness.
